What is the weather like in Ayia Napa?
Ayia Napa is one of the hottest places in the Med. As the most Easterly point of Europe, the weather can even vary from Paphos at the western end of Cyprus and is more middle Eastern than typically European with very dry summers. Rain and storms in other parts of the island often pass Ayia Napa by and bad weather days are very few through out the whole year.
2010 saw the hottest summer on record with Cyprus recording a new high of 46.6 degrees centigrade. As coastal resorts such as Ayia Napa benefit from sea breezes it feels a little more comfortable than inland areas. From June through to early September most days are over 30 degrees with July and August being the hottest with temperatures often reaching 40 degrees. Temperatures often do not dip below 20 degrees until the very end of year with November and even December offering heat in the mid 20's most days although for a shorter period of the day than during the summer.
The coolest months are January and February when it can drop as low as 10 degrees during the day, although again some days can be as high as the low 20's. Night times are cooler through most of the year, although in July and August the temperature does not change as much from the daytime temperature.
