When should you go to Ayia Napa on Holiday?
Ayia Napa is a great place to visit at any time of year, but depending on what type of holiday you are looking for then there may be better times than others for you to visit.
Ayia Napa has great weather all year round. Generally the coolest months are January and February when the temperature can drop to around 15 degrees in the day time and there's a chance of thunderstorms and rain showers. During these months, many businesses in Ayia Napa are closed but you can still enjoy the beaches, the numerous walking and cycling opportunities and make the most of the quiet atmosphere. This is not the time of year for lively bars and clubbing. The winter months are popular with older people on long stay holidays who come from Northern Europe to enjoy the warmth and the peacefulness of Ayia Napa at this time of year.
During the Spring time Ayia Napa wakes up. Businesses are getting ready for the summer season and the weather gets a little warmer, usually around 20 degrees in the day time. There are clubs open at the weekends and once Easter has passed, clubs are open during the week too. There is a choice of bars to go to and whilst it is not lively in a party sense, there is a nice friendly atmosphere. The flowers and trees around Ayia Napa are all in bloom at this time of year and it's a great time for exploring, walking and cycling or relaxing on the beaches. For a serous clubbing holiday in Ayia Napa, the best time to visit is from Mid June until Mid August. During this time all the bars and clubs are open and every night is a party. There are huge events, pool parties, beach parties and loads of other activities and things to do. The temperature at this time is HOT! With daytime temperature often over 35 degrees. The beaches are very busy at this time and all the hotels and apartments are full. During the school holidays from Mid July to the end of August, Ayia Napa also attracts a lot of families who come for the safe beaches, the great weather and the numerous family friendly attractions in Ayia Napa. As well as the big waterpark, Ayia Napa has a fun fair and plenty of other attractions for children to enjoy. Towards the end of August and through September, things calm down a little in Ayia Napa. It is still busy, all the hotels are still full, but a lot of the teenage visitors have left. The weather is still good and hot but with a slight breeze to make it more enjoyable. Most bars and clubs are still open until October when slowly they begin to close up. By early November there are only one or two clubs remaining open at the weekends and a handful of bars to choose from. The weather usually stays warm until Christmas with the odd rain shower here and there. The sea is still pleasantly warm at this time and although there's not much in the way of night life, the beaches are great, there are restaurants open and you can enjoy the natural beauty of the coastline and shore.
