Ayia Napa has legendary nightlife as well as gorgeous beaches and wall to wall sunshine. Instead of just enjoying it for two weeks holiday and then having to go home, you could spend a whole summer working and partying in one of Europe’s hottest resorts.
Ayia Napa has over 80 bars, 12 clubs, 14 blue flag beaches, more than 150 places to eat, a funfair, a waterpark, a bungee, loads of boat trips, some of the best weekly events in Europe and a whole load of top DJ’s and international artists appearing throughout the summer. It’s one of the hottest places to go on holiday and an even hotter place to work in.

Every summer, thousands of people, generally in the 18-25 age group flock to Ayia Napa to work in the clubs and bars. Despite Ayia Napa having so many workers, those that arrive early in the season usually all get to know each other pretty well. The Ayia Napa workers family is a large one and you are likely to meet people you will stay in touch with for years to come.
Working the Ayia Napa season
Most of Ayia Napa starts to open up in April but many bars and clubs don’t usually start to look for new staff until May. Arriving in early to mid May will give you the widest choice of jobs as well as accommodation at the best prices. Most people will find work on their first few nights, although you may try out several jobs over the course of the season before you find something you like. Some people will find jobs within a couple of hours of looking.
June is the busiest month for new workers and competition is fierce for both jobs and places to stay. You will find jobs harder to get the further into summer it is and you may need to work free trials to prove you are a better candidate for the job than the other people applying. Some of April and May’s arrivals will start to go home now though; those who have found that working abroad isn’t for them, or those who have spent all their money already and can’t afford to stay.

Late June and July are crazy busy with workers all competing for jobs and accommodation but by August, lots of places will have staff wanted signs outside again where workers have gone home.
Students going back to university, those who have already drunk as much alcohol as their bodies can handle and those who need a dose of the real world will all depart usually by the first week of August. It leaves a huge gap with little competition so anyone coming out in August and staying until the end of season in October will have a good choice of jobs and accommodation.
Those who do manage to spend a whole season in Ayia Napa get to enjoy a much wider range of experiences as the atmosphere changes with different age groups and nationalities arriving through the summer.

Ayia Napa is a bigger resort than many party towns so it has more jobs available, but also more workers heading out looking for them. Most business owners and managers will employ staff based on looks and personality rather than skills or experience. This means that you will need to have something extra that will make you stand out from the crowd and get a job easily.
You will need bags of confidence, an outgoing personality, charm, humour and some flirting skills would also help.
As we mentioned before, the sunshine, the good times, the great people and the buzzing atmosphere are things that everyone gets to enjoy for free in Ayia Napa. Workers also usually benefit from cheap or free drinks in many bars, free entrance into most clubs, cheap drinks in clubs, discounted meals and other perks which people on holiday don’t get.
Ayia Napa has a wide range of jobs available for summer workers. PR’s and bar staff are needed by all bars and clubs. Dancers, jelly shot and laughing gas sellers are also employed by loads of venues. Other popular jobs include selling tickets for weekly events like bar crawls and beach parties, and waiting tables.
