Ayia Napa has over 100 bars to choose from. There is somewhere to suit all music tastes and bars to suit all types of people.
There are bars spread all over Ayia Napa, from the busy party bars around the square, to trendy lounge and cocktail bars, to cheerful family friendly bars away from the centre. Although the majority of the night life is concentrated around the centre of Ayia Napa, there are bars at the harbour, in the Nissi Bay area, around Grecian Bay and spread throughout the town.
Whatever type of music or night out you're looking for, you should be able to find it in Ayia Napa.
Pre Club Bars
The bars around Ayia Napa's main square and the roads leading off it are where to head to for busy nights out. These party bars are Ayia Napa's most popular with the young clubbing crowd. Music is usually EDM, house or RnB/urban music and these bars are loud. There is little seating as these bars get so busy that all space is used for dancing or mingling.
The bars around the town centre usually open around 9pm but get busiest after around 10.30 pm. The music has to go off by 1.30am but some bars will still serve drinks after this time, some until as late as 3am.
The busiest party bars in Ayia Napa
The busiest bars in Ayia Napa are located close to the main square. Circus Square, as the main square is now known, is very busy at peak season and there is often open air entertainment. The bars in the main square often don't open until early June and then close mid August so this is a mid summer party destination.
At the edge of the square Ambassaden is always one of Ayia Napa's busiest bars from April right through to October. Bazaar Bar is the place to head to for RnB or head round the corner, via Monkey Business bar, to the trendy Igloo Bar, Titanic, and Hollywood Bar. The area between these bars is usually filled with people spilling out into the street and has a great atmosphere.
Further along you come to Castle Bar and Bedrock which both get very busy. Castle Bar plays predominantly house music, whilst Bedrock is more for chart and club classics. Turn the next corner and Aruba, Rock Garden, Kahlua and Pirates all compete to play the loudest music and have the most people dancing on bars. This area is usually busy from early in the evening right through until the small hours.
The area from Castle Bar round the Kahlua is popular all through the summer from April through to October, whereas the main square is quieter outside of June and July.
Quieter nights in Ayia Napa
Not every night in Ayia Napa has to be a crazy one and there are plenty of bars where you can sit down, sample some cocktails, watch a show, or just enjoy time with family or friends. These bars are located slightly away from the main square; on the strip, towards the harbour or on Nissi Avenue. There are plenty to choose from to suit all tastes and budgets with cheap and cheerful drinks offers or luxury champagne cocktails on offer.
Cheap Drinks in Ayia Napa
Drinks prices in Ayia Napa vary by bar and depending on what you are drinking. Local drinks such as bottled beers (Carlsberg or Keo) and local spirits, are cheapest to drink with prices as low as €2 in some bars. Cocktails can also be found for €2 or €3 in many bars and some do have lager on draught starting from €2 a pint.
If you are drinking international brand drinks which are imported these will be more expensive. Spirits such as Smirnoff Vodka, Jack Daniels and Malibu will be more expensive than drinking the local spirits and bottles such as Corona, Budweiser and WKD will be dearer than local bottled beers like Carlsberg and Keo.
