Tour Description
This unique private tour is an epic adventure into one of the most unspoilt areas in Cyprus - The Karpasia peninsula in the North-Eastern tip of the island. This is a truly memorable journey which combines castles, beaches, history and scenery.
Crossing over into the North we start out tour at the foot of the Pentadaktylos Mountain range. We stop for refreshments at the picturesque old fishing harbor of Bogazi and then begin our climb up to the ancient castle of Kantara, stopping for photos of the panoramic views along the way. This magnificent Byzantine castle is over 1000 years old and we have free time explore the ruins.
We then continue our journey through some beautiful countryside into the Karpasia Peninsula where we are guaranteed to find friendly wild donkeys and mountain goats along our way.
We will make a short stop is made at the ancient tomb and catacomb of Ayios Therisos before continuing to the very end of the cape and the Monastery of Apostolos Andreas. This important religious site is dedicated to Saint Andrew who is said to have came ashore here and has been a site of pilgrimage for centuries.
We have time to explore the monastery and take a splash of it's holy water before we head to a local restaurant for lunch and then to the long golden sands of turtle beach where we can swim.
