When should you book your Ayia Napa holiday?
You can book your Ayia Napa holiday up to a year and a half in advance or leave it until the the day before you want to travel.
January and February are the busiest times for people to book their holidays to Ayia Napa. Demand is high at this time and travel companies will compete to offer the best deals. Prices can go up and down by the hour at this time of year though depending on supply and demand. The more people that are booking, the more airlines will charge for their flight seats but if it's a quiet day they may drop their prices a little to encourage people who have been looking to commit to actually making a booking.
Many airlines and travel companies will offer reduced holiday prices if you book your holiday before Christmas as this is their slow season. You may find a better deal by booking earlier before the mad rush when prices can shoot up, especially for the most popular dates in July. This also gives you longer to pay the holiday off and save up your holiday spending money.
You may be tempted to wait for a late deal and book your holiday nearer the summer, but as Ayia Napa is so popular, holiday prices can often be more expensive closer to the travel date as all the cheaper holidays have sold out by then and only the more expensive hotels and least popular dates are left.
If you want to travel outside the peak season dates (March- May and September-November) then you might find a cheap last minute deal, but if you want to secure your favourite hotel or the best flight times then book as soon as you find a price that are happy with.

Ayia Napa Booking Mistakes to Avoid
Cheap flights aren't so much of a bargain if they're flying into Paphos which is at the other end of Cyprus from Ayia Napa. It will cost you around €140 in taxi fares each way and take around 2 and a half hours. The nearest airport to Ayia Napa is Larnaca which is only 45 minutes away and much cheaper to travel from. ( From €45 each way with our partners)
If you are travelling home on a night flight where you leave Cyprus in the early hours of the morning, you will generally have to vacate your room at lunchtime the day before so you will have a long wait around without anywhere to change or shower before your flight. It can be cheaper to book an extra night at the time of booking than to pay for a late check out once you get to Ayia Napa. Most hotels will have a luggage storage room though and some will have a shower room you can use.
If you arrive in Ayia Napa in the early hours of the morning, make sure your room is booked from the day before so you can go straight into it and not have to wait until mid afternoon for the usual check in time.
Check what luggage allowance, if any, is included in your flight tickets. Some airlines only include hand luggage and you need to pre-book and pay extra for your checked in suitcases at the time of booking.
Airport transfers from Larnaca airport to Ayia Napa itself are often not included with your holiday or are at an extra charge. If you are offered a shuttle bus/coach price and there are 4 or more people travelling, then a taxi will probably work out cheaper, (and quicker) View our Airport Transfers Guide for more information on the best ways to get from the airport to Ayia Napa.
