Peaceful small beaches along the coastal path

​Katsarka and Pernera beaches are small areas of sandy beach which can be found between swathes of rocky shoreline which front the coastal path leading from Ayia Napa harbour to Sandy Bay beach. 

Katsarka beach is located closest to the harbour and offers deep water swimming very close to the shoreline. It is not ideal for families for this reason, but there are rockpools to explore and areas of sand. 

​Pernera Beach is located at the opposite end from the harbour towards the edge of Sandy Bay (Vathia Gonia beach). It shelves gently into crystal clear seas making it very popular with families. Watersports are available at both areas nd there are limited refreshments available.

Family friendly beaches within easy reach of town

Both Katsarka and Pernera beaches are easily reached from Nissi Avenue with access to the coastal pathway at various places along the road. You can also join the coastal pathway at Ayia Napa harbour or at the more westerly beaches such as Sandy bay or Nissi Beach. ​

Pernera Beach has a watersports station and there is often an ice cream van here at peak season. From here you can walk over the headland through a natural area to Sandy Bay (Vathia Gonia)
