Tour Description
This tour into Northern Cyprus explores the far Northern coast and the area around Kyrenia.
We start our day with a visit to the church and tomb of St Barnabas (Apostolos Varnavas) who is the patron Saint of Cyprus. Here the apostle was found embracing the gospel of St Mathew. This is a popular pilgrimage site and the pretty church is worth a visit.
We continue on to the ancient city of Kyrenia with it's pretty harbour where you have free time to explore the town. Maybe you will visit the imposing castle and it's museum, or enjoy refreshments at a harbourside cafe.
Heading back inland we stop at Bellapais village and the ruins of the gothic Abbey there. Perched above the town of Kyrenia you can endless panoramic views from here. The village has changed little in generations.
