Tour DescriptionView the Fascinating ancient city of Famagusta from the perfect vantage point of the open top Red Bus. With running live commentary from our English speaking guides, this is the most fun way to see a bit more of Cyprus and enjoy a day out.
The city of Famagusta is dotted with ruins, relics and interesting architecture with plenty to see. Enjoy some free time to explore the old town with it's wealth of historic buildings. Wander down narrow lanes lined with cafe's and bars or relax with a Turkish coffee in sun dappled back streets. Leaving the old walled city our next stop on the tour is the gorgeous golden sands of Constantia Beach. Turtles are often seen in this area and snorkels and masks are provided for anyone who wishes to swim the crystal clear waters. An underwater camera is also available for use. The beach is right next to the the barbed wire fence separating the ghost town of Varosha from the modern world. Witness for yourself the sad remnants of this once bustling tourist hotspot. Famagusta used to be known as the jewel of the Mediterannean with glamourous visitors and famous people from all over the world flocking here for it's nightlife, gourmet restaurants, luxury hotels and beach life. Since the invasion in 1974, Varosha, the tourist part of Famagusta has been fenced off, left to rot and be reclaimed by nature. Tour Schedule
This tour runs a minimum of Mondays and Thursdays from April to October. Tours on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday are also available at busy times when the Monday and Thursday tours are full. Please book at least 48 hours in advance. For last minute bookings, please contact us and we will do our best to book you on this tour. At times of high demand we may need to offer you an alternative date if the tour is fully booked.
Departure Points / Pick up locations
This tour is available from Ayia Napa and Protaras areas. Pick up will be from designated pick up points around the resort. Your nearest pick up point may be a few minutes walk from your hotel. Your exact pick up location and time will be advised upon confirmation. Please be waiting at the pick up point before the time stated in case the bus is running early. Pick up times from Ayia Napa and Protaras are between 09.00 and 10.30, depending on your pick up location. Returns between 4pm and 5pm.
